First Reform S.E.L.F™ is an organization founded for the specific purpose of upholding the responsibility to nurture, cultivate, and guide our youth, women, and men into emotional literacy, character development, financial stability, and purpose. We are committed to providing personal and professional development for individuals who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. First Reform S.E.L.F™ offers self-directed courses and workshops that are dedicated to mentoring our youth, women, and men who have come into contact with the criminal justice system and their families. Our focal point is to reinforce that true change starts within.
The reform cycle begins when we nurture and cultivate our 4 unique aspects of S.E.L.F:
Spiritual Intelligence: Understanding our place in this world in light of our Creator and others.
Emotional Literacy: How we view and understand our self-worth. This is how much we value ourselves, which ultimately determines how much we invest in ourselves.
Leadership: We are all born leaders, it's just a matter of when will we tap into those needed qualities to live out our purpose.
Financial Stability: Understanding currency and how to use it as a means of providing stability for ourselves and our community.
Our aim is to change the narrative about those who come in contact with the criminal justice system. First Reform S.E.L.F ™ has two approaches, the individual approach, and the societal approach:
Individual Approach: Demonstrate to our mentees that change is within reach and the cycle of reform starts within.
Societal Approach: Advocate, highlight, and showcase that reform is possible and second chances are worth it.
To fill lives with purpose,
Move hearts with emotional literacy,
Develop character with integrity,
& Enrich minds with financial education.
